As a nutrition professional, you'll open doors for individuals to explore food and nutrition knowledge, develop wholesome food products, promote sustainable food systems, and champion fair and safe food access worldwide. You'll master the scientific foundations of nutrition, including human biology, biochemistry, and culinary nutrition science. Specializing in how food and nutrition contribute to health maintenance and illness prevention for people, communities, and vulnerable populations will equip you for growing sectors of this field. To become a practicing Dietitian - working directly with patients managing conditions from eating disorders to food allergies through nutritional guidance - nutrition graduates must complete an accredited Dietetics or Dietetic Practice program. These programs blend academic learning with hands-on training across various specialties: one-on-one nutritional counseling, group education, public health nutrition, food service management, entrepreneurial dietetics, and research. ACU's Master of Dietetic Practice is an intensive two-year program featuring over 130 days of practical placements.
