Electrical engineers illuminate the world in a literal sense. They also design the core technology we rely on daily, spanning communication networks to GPS navigation. Discover our Electrical Engineering major. These professionals find opportunities across diverse sectors, including power generation and automotive production. The Electrical Engineering Technology program follows a two-plus-two model, offering students the choice to obtain an associate degree and a bachelor's degree tailored to their goals. Upon finishing the associate degree requirements, students can either join the workforce or pursue a Bachelor of Science in Applied Science (BSAS) through two additional years of full-time study (typically 17 credits per semester) or part-time equivalent.

The bachelor's degree in electrical engineering technology trains students for roles as engineers or engineering designers. The curriculum emphasizes analog and digital electronics, communication systems, smart grid and power distribution, and computer networking. Cooperative programs with regional companies allow EET students to gain practical experience and earn income during their junior and senior years. Many students maintain full or part-time employment while completing the BSAS degree through evening courses. Students are advised to take the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam as an initial step toward professional licensure.
