The Global Health Concentration is open to students from any YSPH department pursuing either the standard two-year M.P.H. or the combined five-year BA-BS/M.P.H. degrees. Those in the accelerated one-year Advanced Professional M.P.H. program can participate through the Global Health Track. Courses are available across Yale University to stimulate creative thinking and cultivate an international outlook. As a pioneer in Yale's mission to enhance worldwide health through research, education, and outreach, the Yale School of Public Health employs scientific methods to advance wellness, drive innovation, develop future leaders, and create meaningful global impact. Faculty investigations cover diverse areas such as chronic and infectious illnesses, implementation science, environmental health, behavioral health factors, and policy management. This concentration integrates these multidisciplinary experiences, focusing on comprehensive solutions for global health problems affecting both developing and industrialized nations. Graduates will gain the skills needed for careers in various sectors—including public, private, national, and international organizations—that address pressing global health concerns.
