The Yale School of Music's trombone program provides students with chances to enhance their abilities, discover musical works spanning from historical to contemporary pieces, and engage in both small ensemble and full orchestra performances. Trombone players take part in weekly one-on-one instruction and group seminar sessions. Beyond solo performances, they join chamber groups, a fundamental component of the Yale music curriculum. Participants delve into historical compositions and playing styles through the Yale Cornetto and Sackbut Ensemble, contribute to modern music groups in the New Music New Haven series, and perform with the school's premier orchestra, the Yale Philharmonia. These diverse experiences allow students to interpret an extensive range of musical works under the direction of renowned visiting conductors.
