To acknowledge the connection between nursing and spiritual/religious ministry, Yale Divinity School and the Yale School of Nursing (YSN) provide a dual-degree opportunity for those pursuing careers that blend advanced nursing practice, healthcare policy development, and religious ministry across diverse healthcare settings. Candidates pursue a Master of Science in Nursing from YSN alongside either a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Religion from YDS. Applicants must submit simultaneous applications to both schools, specifying their interest in the joint program. Note: Current or prospective YSN students focusing on the Midwifery/Women's Health Nurse Practitioner track are ineligible. For the MSN/MA in Religion combination, students spend one term at each institution during their third year, completing both degrees by year's end. Those pursuing the MSN/MDiv path register for alternating terms between both schools in their third and fourth years, finishing both programs by the conclusion of the fourth year.
