Nurturing both physical health and spiritual well-being doesn't require different specialists. With this in mind, Yale Divinity School and Yale School of Medicine provide a combined program awarding either a Master of Divinity or Master of Arts in Religion alongside a Doctor of Medicine degree. Applicants must submit applications to both schools at the same time, specifying their interest in the dual-degree program. Each school makes its admission decisions separately. Because combining medical studies with theological education presents unique scheduling challenges, individual academic plans are developed in consultation with the dean's office for each participating student.

The application must be complete in order to be properly filed through our online system. It includes: a completed online application, personal statement, writing sample, transcripts of all previous academic work (both graduate and undergraduate), three letters of recommendation, IELTS test scores for those whom English is a second language (minimum score of 7), and the application fee.2.
