The Religion and Ecology concentration is an interdisciplinary program rooted in the YDS curriculum, utilizing faculty expertise across biblical studies, ethics, liturgical studies, pastoral care, spirituality, theology, and ecological perspectives in world religions. This program explores eco-theology, eco-spirituality, eco-feminism, embodied theologies, concepts of place, land, race, and indigeneity, environmental ethics, creation-centered liturgy, and the relationship between cosmology and ecology. Students must complete fifteen credit hours in religion and ecology courses, along with six credits from the School of Forestry & Environmental Studies. Additionally, fifteen credits in Bible, theology, and/or history are required, with at least three credits in each discipline.
