The Liturgical Studies concentration involves completing eighteen credit hours in the primary field, which includes the foundational course REL 682: Foundations of Christian Worship. Participants must complete nine credit hours of restricted electives in liturgical studies, divided equally between historical, theological, and methodological/practical approaches. An additional six elective credits are available, with a recommendation to include coursework in one's denominational worship practices. The remaining thirty credits needed for the M.A.R. with this specialization can be selected from YDS and ISM course offerings, tailored to individual academic interests and career aspirations in consultation with faculty advisors.
