These guidelines outline details about the American Religious History program offered by the Department of Religious Studies. They establish a framework of standards to help shape individual study plans. Each student should collaborate with faculty, the Assistant Director of Graduate Studies for American Religious History (ADGS), and the department's Director of Graduate Studies (DGS) to create a personalized curriculum. Early consultation with American Religious History faculty is highly recommended to identify academic requirements and structure a study path that optimally prepares students for their qualifying exams and future research. A defining feature of this PhD program is its intentionally low student-to-faculty ratio, fostering close mentorship and attentive guidance throughout each student's progress. Program modifications are possible to adapt to evolving academic interests and course availability.
