Yale University's Department of Pharmacology provides comprehensive, cross-disciplinary graduate education through the Biological and Biomedical Sciences (BBS) program. Enrolled BBS students can engage in coursework, laboratory rotations, and thesis research alongside over 200 Yale faculty members across biological science disciplines. The BBS program structures its community into focused, interest-driven Tracks of moderate size to foster personalized mentorship and enhance collaborative opportunities. Applicants select their preferred Track during admissions while retaining full flexibility to collaborate with faculty across all specializations. Each incoming BBS cohort typically comprises 70-80 students, who then disperse into smaller groups aligned with their academic focus areas. Yale's graduate community in biological and biomedical sciences includes nearly 400 students, complemented by about 400 medical students at the School of Medicine.
