The Architecture doctoral program features two specialized study paths: Architectural History and Theory, and Architectural Science Ecosystems. These tracks focus on developing educators who can skillfully train aspiring architects while exploring architecture's diverse cultural intersections. The curriculum blends professional expertise with architectural history and critical analysis, enhancing students' understanding of contemporary challenges in the field. The History and Theory specialization offers rigorous training in historical research methods and fosters awareness of intellectual movements shaping architecture's global influence. Graduates pursue careers in academia, cultural leadership, museum curation, and publishing. The program incorporates interdisciplinary perspectives from science and technology history, political and social history, media studies, arts, literature, and cultural studies.
Applicants must have a master’s degree or equivalent in Architecture, Engineering, Environmental Design, or, exceptionally, a related field. Two years of professional work in an architecture office are recommended. Applicants must have studied in residence at the baccalaureate institution for at least three years to receive the waiver.
