Yale School of Nursing's core purpose is advancing health equity for everyone. We achieve this by preparing future nurses as innovators, researchers, and clinicians while revolutionizing patient care and driving scientific progress. Honoring our first Dean Annie W. Goodrich's legacy, the YSN community bridges theoretical exploration with practical application, addressing essential human needs within healthcare systems worldwide. Our focus areas span chronic conditions (like diabetes, heart disease, cancer, and HIV), family-centered care, reproductive and pediatric health, sleep medicine, worldwide health initiatives, serving marginalized communities, emergency medicine, hospice services, genetic and environmental health factors, aging care solutions, and public health programs in schools and neighborhoods.
Eligible applicants must hold a master’s degree in nursing or a related field (i.e. MPH, MBA, MHA) and a current license to practice as a registered nurse or advanced practice nurse or certified nurse midwife in the United States. (Connecticut licensure is not required.) If the applicant’s Bachelor’s of Science degree is not in nursing, the master’s degree MUST be in nursing.
English Language requirements: The minimum score on the TOEFL is 610 on the paper-based test or 102 on the Internet-based test.
