Yale School of Music's trumpet program provides comprehensive training in solo and ensemble performance across musical eras, from early compositions to contemporary works. Weekly private instruction with Kevin Cobb and studio classes form the core of the curriculum. The program nurtures artistic innovation while enabling students to utilize Yale's extensive academic resources. Beyond solo performances, trumpet players engage in chamber music - a fundamental component of the Yale musical experience. They also perform with diverse ensembles in the New Music New Haven series and as members of the Yale Philharmonia orchestra. These performance avenues allow students to interpret broad musical styles under the direction of renowned visiting conductors.
