The Performance Certificate program caters to exceptional performers without a bachelor's degree. Applicants must possess at least a high school diploma or equivalent. Participants engage in full-time performance training and academic coursework, joining ensembles like Philharmonia, Chamber Music, or New Music New Haven as suitable. This three-year program mandates completion of 96 credits (16 per semester) and requires students to reside in the Greater New Haven area. Certificate candidates must maintain a B average overall, with all School of Music programs requiring at least a B grade in both Major Individual Instruction and Major Seminar courses. Students falling below this standard in either course will enter academic probation.
