The combined Computer Science and Mathematics major is designed for students passionate about computational mathematics, applying computing in mathematical contexts, algorithmic design and analysis from a mathematical perspective, and computing theory. The Computer Science Department provides both Bachelor of Science and Bachelor of Arts degree options in Computer Science, along with an accelerated Bachelor's/Master's track. Collaborative majors are available with Economics, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, and Psychology departments. All programs deliver rigorous technical training while enabling students to explore diverse academic fields, maintaining the breadth characteristic of liberal arts education. Consequently, the curriculum requires fewer mandatory courses compared to many institutions. Many students leverage this flexibility to pursue additional majors in fields like Economics, Music, Political Science, or Theater Studies.
