The Theater and Performance Studies (TAPS) program aims to nurture bold artists and scholars who deeply value artistic skill while comprehending the broader cultural landscapes that shape creative works. Through foundational, semester-long, and culminating courses, the program reinforces its central educational goals: teamwork, technical proficiency, blending practical and theoretical approaches, cross-disciplinary exploration, and innovative project creation. Participants are urged to explore diverse fields like theater, dance, performance studies, musical theater, multimedia arts, and design. Given that research in these areas spans multiple disciplines and global viewpoints, students should complement their studies with related subjects such as history, philosophy, anthropology, political science, film, visual arts, and literature.
