The Economics and Mathematics program is designed for students deeply passionate about both disciplines, particularly those considering advanced studies in economics. Economics extends far beyond analyzing market fluctuations, financial securities, or economic cycles. It explores fundamental aspects of human behavior, examining how policies like taxation influence work participation and saving patterns. Contemporary economic discussions frequently tackle pressing societal issues - from analyzing wealth disparities and pay inequities based on gender and race to developing solutions for poverty. Other critical topics include assessing how immigration and international trade affect national prosperity, understanding the roots of major economic crises, and developing tools to forecast future economic challenges.
