The thesis-based M.S. program offers comprehensive training in scientific writing techniques, critical evaluation of research literature, practical lab work in advanced facilities, and thesis preparation and defense. This five-semester program requires first-year students to complete 12-15 credit hours of coursework while rotating through multiple faculty labs. After choosing a thesis advisor, students embark on original research projects. In their second year, participants finalize their research and present both written and oral thesis defenses. Regular attendance at departmental seminars is mandatory to gain broader exposure to pharmacology and toxicology research areas.
