The Health Care Management (HCM) Certificate Program provides specialized training to cultivate strategic leadership and management abilities tailored for the health care field. Acknowledging the unique challenges of the health care sector compared to other industries, this curriculum equips participants with sophisticated business principles, assessment methods, and strategic approaches to enhance leadership capabilities, elevate service quality, boost efficiency, and optimize financial performance. Jointly offered by WSU's Raj Soin College of Business (RSCoB) and the Boonshoft School of Medicine, this program targets medical professionals including physicians and nurses, health care executives, and individuals who would gain value from graduate-level business instruction with a health care focus. Successful participants earn a Health Care Management Certificate upon program completion.

Qualification Requirements

To be admitted to the program, students must first be accepted into the Wright State University (WSU) College of Graduate Programs and have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher. Minimum graduate school requirements include an earned bachelor's and/or advanced graduate degree from an accredited college or university.

If you are not currently enrolled at WSU, you must apply online as a graduate non-degree-seeking student through the WSU College of Graduate Programs and complete the Certificate application (see link below). During the online application process, you will have an opportunity to select the Health Care Management Certificate Program and to submit required documents.
You must submit an official transcript accompanied by a translation into English if needed. If your credentials cannot be evaluated by the Office of International Admissions, you are required to submit your academic credentials to an evaluation service and pay the cost of the evaluation.
If your native language is not English and you do not have a degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, you must have a minimum score on one of the following exams:
A score of 79/120 on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (T.O.E.F.L.)
A band 6 or higher through the International English Language Testing System (IELTS)
A score of 57 or higher on the Pearson PTE
Students who show proof of successful completion of an Intensive English Program from an accredited Institution or program accepted by international admissions are exempt from the requirement to take an approved English Proficiency exam.
Several departments or programs have set higher requirements for English proficiency. Visit the graduate programs page for more information.
You may be required by your academic advisors to take an English writing placement test. If you do not pass this test, you may be required to take more on-campus classes to improve your English. If you have earned a degree from a regionally accredited U.S. college or university, you are exempted from the TOEFL requirement.
