The Geographic Information Science (GIS) certificate is available to all Wright State undergraduate and graduate students across all majors. Those wishing to develop or improve their geospatial abilities without pursuing a degree can also enroll in the GIS certificate program as non-degree seeking students. Undergraduate students should consult with a geography advisor to officially add the certificate to their academic record, while graduate students choose the GIS certificate option on their graduate school application.
The GIS certificate program delivers concentrated instruction on current advancements in geographic data gathering and analysis methods. Participants will utilize cutting-edge technology to collect and examine spatial information applicable to professions in both public and private sectors, including intelligence, planning, marketing, land development, economic development, transportation, and numerous other fields.
