While statistics differs from mathematics as an academic discipline, it builds upon probability theory - the mathematical study of randomness. The Bachelor of Science in Statistics program focuses on statistics both as an independent scientific field and as an applied discipline, with significant uses across various areas including biology, medicine, sociology, chemistry, agriculture, education, engineering, economics, psychology, and quality assurance. Students completing this program will be equipped for careers in numerous businesses and government organizations where statisticians plan experiments, administer surveys, and interpret data.
