The Master of Public Administration & Policy (MPAP) program is designed for individuals pursuing careers in public service. It caters particularly to policy professionals including legislative assistants, as well as city, state, and regional policy and planning personnel. The curriculum blends in-person and online learning formats to accommodate students' busy schedules. Housed within the dynamic Urban Studies Department, this program leverages Worcester State University's metropolitan setting to cultivate the next generation of public service leaders for Massachusetts and other regions.

MPAP features an interdisciplinary faculty team representing diverse fields such as urban studies, sociology, political science, economics, business administration, and criminal justice.

Students complete their studies with a two-part capstone experience that provides practical application and integration of their academic learning.

Qualification Requirements

Bachelor's degree in political science, urban studies, criminal justice, economics, management, or related field with a minimum GPA of 2.75
2 letters of recommendation from a professional or academic source
Prerequisite courses: Introductory courses in microeconomics, macroeconomics, political science, and statistics
Students may take up to 6 credits before matriculation
Official transcripts with a calculated GPA for the institution that awarded your baccalaureate degree, Official transcripts of each graduate institution awarding degree(s) or course credit beyond a baccalaureate degree (if applicable).

Applicants from countries outside of the United States in which English is not the language of instruction, must also submit a score of 79 or above on the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), a score of 6.5 or above on the International English Language Testing System (IELTS), a score of 100 or above on the Duolingo Test, a score of 59 or above on the Pearson PTE test, or a score of 4 or above on the International English Language Proficiency Test (iTEP). A waiver of this requirement may be available for IELI Bridge to University graduate-level students.
