Undergraduates should consider taking foundational classes in political science, management, and economics before completing their bachelor's degree, as these are required for full admission to the MPM program. A financial accounting course is strongly advised as well. Full matriculation occurs solely after students earn their undergraduate diploma, with all prerequisite coursework finished by that time.
For the joint degree, students complete 9-11 graduate-level credits that apply to both their bachelor's program and the MPM. These graduate courses replace undergraduate electives. Academic guidance is provided by both the graduate coordinator and undergraduate advisor. The program offers rolling admissions, allowing students to begin their studies in any academic term.
