Shape the future of public health by specializing in health education. This program offers collaborative, interdisciplinary training in wellness, health promotion, comprehensive disease prevention, and community health services. You'll explore the social, behavioral, and environmental factors behind critical health issues while gaining skills to design, execute, and assess effective health initiatives and preventive care programs. The curriculum also allows you to add a secondary education minor. Upon completion, you'll qualify to sit for the Certified Health Education Specialist exam from the National Commission for Health Education Credentialing.
The Public Health Major equips you with foundational skills for a career in this growing field. You'll analyze how social, behavioral, and environmental factors influence major health concerns while developing expertise in creating and assessing health promotion strategies. The program also addresses health disparities and contemporary challenges affecting communities worldwide. Through hands-on, multidisciplinary training, you'll gain competencies in wellness promotion, preventive healthcare, and community service. Exceptional students may pursue dual degrees in public health and nursing through our collaboration with the Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences.
