As the impacts of climate change intensify, grasping Earth's systems and their connection to human activities grows increasingly crucial. The Geography Major enables you to examine atmospheric patterns, geological formations, and water systems while exploring how societal factors like global integration, population trends, city growth, and cultural identity formation influence our planet's landscapes and climate. This program cultivates vital critical thinking and solution-finding abilities applicable across scientific, environmental, and policy-focused professions. You'll translate academic concepts into real-world applications through practical work in our Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and earth science labs, complemented by external internships or research projects with community partners. High-achieving students may qualify for Gamma Theta Upsilon, the global geography honors society.
