The Pre-Medical Professions concentration is designed for high-achieving BS Biology students aiming for careers in medicine (MD, DO), osteopathy, podiatry (DPM), veterinary medicine (DVM), pharmacy (PharmD), physician assistant (PA), physical therapy (PT, excluding 33 applicants), and optometry (OD), along with related graduate programs like Occupational Therapy (MS & Ph.D.). Qualified BS Biology majors can join this concentration after finishing the core biology curriculum. Importantly, students from any Biology concentration or the BS Biotechnology program can also prepare for medical careers. WPU's BS Biology program uniquely requires no additional coursework beyond major requirements for medical (MD/DO), dental, veterinary, and pharmacy school applications, needing just one supplementary course (General Anatomy & Physiology II) for PA and PT programs.
