Our graduate program maintains an intimate scale, accepting just fifteen to twenty new students annually. We intentionally keep our program small to foster strong faculty-student connections. Consequently, graduate seminars are capped at twelve participants, with two courses per quarter being the standard workload. Students collaborate closely with professors in seminars, internships, and through departmental literary publications. We view this vibrant intellectual community as fundamental to our graduate education.
Each year, we offer an engaging variety of graduate seminars covering diverse subjects including world literatures, creative writing, rhetoric, cultural studies, film, linguistics, literary criticism, and teaching methods. The program also provides comprehensive training for aspiring college instructors, with substantial hands-on experience.
