The Interdisciplinary Concentration offers students the chance to create a customized Bachelor of Arts major tailored to their unique aspirations. This flexible approach enables learners to combine their passions across multiple academic fields into a unified program that aligns with both personal growth and professional objectives.
Through the self-designed concentration process, students collaborate with faculty advisors to establish a well-reasoned academic focus and craft a comprehensive plan incorporating coursework, independent research, capstone projects, and when relevant, practical experiences like internships. Guidance is provided through faculty mentorship and the FAIR 303A Concentration Seminar, supporting students throughout their academic journey. The approved Concentration Proposal, consisting of a rationale statement and course list, serves as the official study plan once endorsed by the student's advisory committee and submitted to Fairhaven College Records Office. This plan must include at least 36 credits completed over three quarters following the approval quarter.

Upon completing their degree, students undertake a senior project and comprehensive self-assessment, allowing them to reflect on their academic achievements and plan for future endeavors.

This program has facilitated innovative concentrations beyond conventional majors. For additional details about potential concentration areas and opportunities, students may consult the Fairhaven College office.
