The History/Social Studies program equips students to become secondary school educators in history and social sciences. Through their coursework, majors acquire skills in researching diverse sources, examining historical materials (including texts and visuals), assessing scholarly perspectives, and formulating well-supported arguments. The extensive writing and discussion components in history classes further enhance students' communication abilities. Required classes in economics, geography, and political science provide foundational knowledge for teaching these subjects at middle and high school levels.
