Psychology explores the study of human and animal behavior, demanding professionals with empathy and commitment who apply research-backed methods to address behavioral challenges at both individual and systemic levels. Our program features faculty with expertise across diverse domains such as Clinical/Counseling Psychology, Behavior Analysis, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Social/Health Psychology, School/Educational Psychology, Community Psychology, and Gender/Cultural Psychology. Graduates are well-prepared for advanced studies or careers in various professional environments.
As a Psychology student, you'll engage with foundational and specialized coursework led by distinguished full-time faculty and regional experts. Collaborative opportunities with professors and graduate mentors allow students to develop, conduct, and showcase research projects. The Department of Psychology and Neuroscience houses cutting-edge laboratories in the Center for Sciences and Pharmacy, with some studies conducted at partner locations. Research involvement in our lab groups can count toward academic credit. Beyond core psychological training, numerous electives let you focus on preferred specialties like clinical/counseling/forensic/neuro psychology, school/educational/developmental psychology, social/health/organizational psychology, or behavior analysis. The program's adaptable structure supports either a BA or BS degree path and permits research participation for course credit. Students may also combine their Psychology studies with Elementary or Secondary Education as a double major, while those from other disciplines often opt for the Psychology minor.
