Obtain the highest academic credential in occupational therapy—the Doctor of Occupational Therapy degree. Occupational therapy represents a dynamic and expanding healthcare field where professionals help individuals and communities engage in daily activities (occupations), modify environments to enhance functionality in home, work, or recreational spaces, and deliver personalized care to support life participation. Pursuing an OTD degree enables you to make a difference for people with disabilities or at risk of developing them, enhance community health through collaborative interprofessional teams, and revolutionize practice in traditional and emerging sectors like primary care and telehealth. Transform lives—beginning with your own. Complete two degrees in just six years instead of seven. This accelerated pathway allows you to earn both a BS and OTD degree simultaneously at Western New England University, saving time and tuition while positioning you for higher earning potential with the field's most advanced practice credential. As a first-year student in this early admission program, you'll dedicate your initial three years to Health Studies with foundational OT coursework. Upon completing five semesters successfully, you'll apply to the OTD program during junior year spring. Accepted students transition to the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences for their fourth year (typically WNE's senior year). After four years, you'll graduate alongside peers with a Bachelor of Science degree before continuing (with optional on-campus housing) into the final two years of doctoral study (including summers) to prepare for licensure and careers in clinical practice, department leadership, or academic roles.
