As global commerce accelerates and business dealings multiply, demand for skilled accountants is surging, with their responsibilities evolving in dynamic new directions. The College of Business accounting curriculum equips students with expertise to pursue diverse career paths across corporate, public sector, governmental, and nonprofit organizations. Hands-on learning opportunities include internships with leading accounting firms and corporate finance divisions. While traditionally focused on financial reporting, modern accountants now serve as strategic advisors - a role demanding comprehensive business acumen that our Bachelor of Science program delivers. Our curriculum emphasizes collaborative projects and develops strong communication abilities, preparing graduates to expertly analyze, prepare, and present financial documentation.
The Accounting program covers essential disciplines including audit services, accounting technology platforms, commercial law, tax strategy, managerial accounting, and organizational resource planning. With proper course sequencing, students can simultaneously complete a Finance major without extra coursework. Ambitious learners may opt for our accelerated Five-year Bachelor/Master program, fulfilling the 150-credit CPA certification requirement adopted by most U.S. jurisdictions.
