The Master of Science in Engineering Management program was designed to cultivate leadership expertise for professionals in technical and engineering environments, emphasizing manufacturing and operational services. It connects engineering principles with business management, concentrating on leadership development and essential competencies for overseeing teams, budgets, and initiatives. The curriculum is grounded in the Engineering Management Body of Knowledge established by the American Society for Engineering Management.
The program aims to:
Build leadership qualities and substantial management abilities to complement students' technical expertise.
Strengthen proficiency in handling organizational resources, including personnel, finances, and projects.
Cultivate advanced analytical and administrative competencies while gaining knowledge in complementary disciplines.
Foster the capacity to combine technical, managerial, and systems expertise to enhance organizational effectiveness.
Equip students for potential advanced studies in post-master's and doctoral programs as their career aspirations evolve.
Possess a baccalaureate degree with a major in a technical field, such as engineering, technology, mathematics, computer science, or the physical sciences.
Show evidence of completion of at least eight semester hours of mathematics with a minimum overall grade point average of 2.5 in those courses.
Submit GRE (Graduate Record Examination) scores for the General Test.
Undergraduate courses should have been completed in calculus, statistics, computer programming, work methods analysis, operations planning and control, and quality control. Where the student’s background is deficient, foundation courses will be required. Students may take IEE 5010 to acquire an understanding of work methods analysis, operations planning and control, and quality control.
