WMU's Department of Counselor Education and Counseling Psychology provides a clinical mental health counseling program that enables specialization and enhances career opportunities across diverse fields. The curriculum includes studies in research methodologies, group processes, assessment tools, counseling theories and practices, professional standards and ethics, cross-cultural counseling, human development across the lifespan, career guidance, psychological disorders, substance abuse origins, recovery-focused care systems, and core principles of clinical mental health counseling.
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum English proficiency test scores:

Application deadlines
January 15 for ensuing Summer I and Summer II and Fall Semesters; September 15 for Spring Semester.
