Western Michigan University's accelerated master's program in applied economics enables undergraduate economics students to start earning credits toward their master's degree while finishing their bachelor's.
Upon admission to this accelerated track during their senior year, students can enroll in up to 12 credit hours of specified 5000- and 6000-level courses for graduate credit. These approved courses count toward both undergraduate and graduate degree requirements. ECON 5040 is mandatory within these 12 credits, while remaining courses are chosen with guidance from the department's Graduate and Undergraduate Program Directors.
Have earned a minimum of 30 credit hours at WMU and at least 20 credit hours as a declared economics major.
Have an undergraduate minimum GPA of 3.5 based on 45 credit hours with at least 15 hours earned at WMU.
Have completed MATH 1220 (Calculus I) with a grade of B or higher.
Minimum English proficiency test scores:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 80 iBT
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: 6.5
Pearson Test of English, Academic Module (PTE): 54
Michigan English Test (MET): 57
