You can pursue a Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics either after earning a master's degree or immediately following your bachelor's program. Along with meeting the Western Michigan University Graduate College's standard admission criteria, you'll need to demonstrate adequate mathematical preparation as evaluated by the Department of Mathematics faculty.
Applicants may begin this program with either a master's qualification or right after completing undergraduate studies. Beyond fulfilling the Graduate College's basic entry requirements, candidates must show sufficient mathematical proficiency as assessed by the Department's Mathematics Faculty.
You may apply for the Doctor of Philosophy in mathematics with a master’s degree or directly upon completion of a bachelor’s program.
Minimum English proficiency test scores:
Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL): 80 iBT
International English Language Testing System (IELTS) Academic: 6.5
Pearson Test of English, Academic Module (PTE): 54
Michigan English Test (MET): 57
