The Doctor of Education in Special Education equips professionals for leadership positions in the field, enabling them to serve as university faculty, educational consultants, or special education administrators. Graduates from WMU's doctoral program in special education gain the expertise to advance educational research and critically evaluate evidence-based teaching methods.
This advanced program is tailored for candidates holding a master's degree in special education or a related discipline, with at least one special education certification already completed.
An overall grade point average of at least 3.25 in all graduate work completed.
