Western Michigan University's strategic communication program equips students with essential knowledge and skills in both internal and external communications. This comprehensive curriculum addresses modern industry needs by fostering adaptable communication professionals with diverse competencies. The degree requires foundational coursework followed by specialization in one of four tracks: public relations, leadership development, diversity initiatives, or media technology. Starting fall 2021, the public relations specialization became available as a complete online option.
A first-year applicant is a student who is applying for admission and who has not attempted or earned any college credit after graduating from high school/secondary school (or earned equivalent).
Minimum English proficiency test scores:

Michigan English Test (MET): 48
