Western Illinois University's Production/Design program offers practical training under the guidance of experienced faculty. Collaboration, mentorship, and teamwork form the foundation of theatrical careers and are central to the WIU experience. What sets our program apart is our dedication to personalized instruction and each student's career development. With intimate class sizes, favorable faculty-to-student ratios, and annual opportunities for scenic, lighting, costume, sound, prop, and projection design in our theatre productions, undergraduate Production/Design students gain comprehensive experience. Our students gain national exposure through participation in KC/ACTF, SETC, USITT, and other prominent theatre conferences. Each year, WIU Theatre and Dance welcomes four to five summer stock/regional theatre companies for on-campus auditions and interviews. The connections made at WIU become lasting professional relationships that support graduates throughout their careers.
