The Master of Arts in Art Education serves both experienced art instructors and those new to the field looking to enhance their expertise. Candidates pursuing West Virginia PK-12 Visual Art certification can opt for the MA with certification track. The curriculum is customizable, allowing focus areas in studio practice, classroom research, or community arts. Generally requiring at least 30 credit hours, the program concludes with either a research thesis or creative project. Those holding a BFA or BA in Art can also enroll as non-degree graduate students to obtain postbaccalaureate certification.
