Psychology explores the study of behavior through scientific methods. Our courses provide foundational knowledge of principles, methodologies, and theories to enhance comprehension of both human and animal actions. Pursuing Psychology leads to a broad liberal arts education rather than vocational training for a particular profession. This major helps deepen self-awareness and social understanding while cultivating abilities in critical thinking, organizational leadership, and research proficiency. Students often customize their academic plans based on three common career trajectories: advanced academic study, applying psychological concepts to human challenges, or entering unrelated professional fields. Approximately one-quarter of our alumni continue their education in psychology, medical, or legal graduate programs. More than half transition directly into employment. Career possibilities span evaluation and therapy, personnel administration, assisted living environments, and community support systems. Psychology degree holders also secure positions in substance abuse programs, mental health treatment centers, educational testing services, residential counseling programs, senior care services, youth facility administration, career guidance, and reproductive health services.
