The Bachelor of Science in Sound Recording and Engineering program caters to students passionate about music production, live sound reinforcement, audio system design, and audio technology. Those pursuing this major are ineligible for an Audio in Media Arts minor or dual degree.
Program Objectives
Upon completion, graduates will demonstrate the ability to: Develop and revise recording project plans using comprehensive knowledge of audio principles, technology, recording techniques and signal processing, Demonstrate proficiency in audio capture, production, mixing and mastering, Articulate artistic decisions and assess the creative outcome of recording projects, Collaborate effectively with artists to deliver professional-grade results meeting industry benchmarks, Employ fundamental music theory and instrumentation knowledge in recording projects.

Qualification Requirements
A completed online application for undergraduate admission. Students may submit the University's institutional application or The Common Application. Equal consideration is given to both during the admission review.
An official high school transcript and external exams (if applicable in applicant's home country). All transcripts issued in a language other than English must be accompanied by a certified English translation.
Proof of English language proficiency. See English Language Proficiency section below for approved methods.
A 300- to 500-word essay on a topic of the student's choice, such as a special interest, significant experience or notable achievement.
Strong consideration will be given to applicants who have achieved a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 (equivalent) or better (on a 4.0 scale) on all previous academic work.
Successful completion of the ELS Language Center's for Academic Purposes or ELS Language Center Level 112 (must have valid ELS 112 Certificate of Completion).
Successful completion of the University of Central Florida's Center for Multilingual Multicultural Studies (CMMS) Intensive English Program (must have valid completion certificate).
Successfully meeting the requirements for one of the following tests within the last two years:
