The Bachelor of Music in Performance is a pre-professional program tailored for aspiring professional musicians and studio instructors. Students can specialize in orchestral instruments, jazz, piano, or voice, with intensive applied training, technique classes, coaching sessions, diverse performance styles, and ensemble participation forming the curriculum's foundation. Those focusing on orchestral instruments may select classical guitar, wind, brass, string, or percussion instruments, receiving private lessons from distinguished faculty artists. Performance majors emphasizing orchestral instruments participate in Webster University ensembles and may support choral, musical theater, or Opera Studio productions as directed. Organ students follow the orchestral instruments track but substitute MUSC 4030 and 3 elective credits in place of piano requirements. This degree aligns with National Association of Schools of Music (NASM) accreditation standards, and Webster University holds full NASM membership.
