The Pediatric Nurse Practitioner - Acute Care (PNP-AC) graduate certificate enables primary care pediatric nurse practitioners to gain specialized knowledge and clinical competencies for acute care practice. This program requires successful completion of at least 16 credits covering both theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical training. Nurses will develop crucial expertise to take on acute care positions across various healthcare environments, employing a family-focused approach to patient care. The curriculum emphasizes advanced health evaluation, disease processes, and acute treatment protocols. Two courses offer customized clinical rotations based on each student's professional goals. Participants must complete 600 hours of acute care training to achieve specialty proficiency and qualify for the PNCB's Pediatric Nurse Practitioner-Acute Care certification examination.
