The Graduate Certificate in Library and Information Science (GCLIS) aims to provide paraprofessionals, current master's students, and graduates with focused expertise and analytical skills in specific library science or information study areas, drawing from the School's diverse course offerings. For example, a GCLIS participant seeking to refresh their knowledge in a particular field can choose courses covering modern technologies, methods, or competencies not covered in prior studies or that need updating. Alternatively, students might pursue the GCLIS to gain qualifications for new career prospects. While learners can combine courses from the School's full curriculum, no more than nine (9) GCLIS credits can be counted toward a master's degree.
