The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in communication cultivates rigorous academic scholarship while delivering exceptional theoretical and practical education. This doctoral program explores diverse methodologies—quantitative, qualitative, rhetorical, and critical—all tailored through individualized Plans of Work aligned with student interests.

Graduates emerge as adept researchers, practitioners, creative professionals, analytical thinkers, and insightful interpreters of communication dynamics. While some become distinguished scholars and educators globally, others hold influential roles as communication specialists across corporate, governmental, and academic sectors.

Additionally, we provide a dual-title Ph.D. combining Communication and Urban Sustainability. Communication Ph.D. candidates may apply for this interdisciplinary program, which equips professionals to address complex urban challenges through cross-disciplinary collaboration. Participants engage in specialized urban sustainability coursework across multiple departments, alongside community service initiatives, academic symposiums, and sustainability-focused grant proposal development.
