The Department provides PhD programs across all primary disciplines categorized as core concentrations within the Master of Science program, including construction engineering management, environmental engineering, structural engineering, and transportation. Currently, the geotechnical engineering specialization is not accepting doctoral applications.
Individuals earning a Ph.D. in engineering will:

In a few years, youll be thrust into the forefront of the resurgent U.S. manufacturing industry, faced with challenges regarding the environment, health and society. Or perhaps youll find yourself in a laboratory dedicated to innovative research in connectivity and mobility, connected health, public safety, traffic management, computing infrastructure, or food, energy, and water distribution. To establish English proficiency, you are required to submit an official qualifying score meeting minimum Graduate School requirements. The Graduate School's English Language Proficiency requirements are the absolute minimum, programs can set higher minimum standards. You are expected to meet the requirements set by your program of interest.
