The Wayne State bachelor's program in industrial engineering enrolls over 80 full- and part-time students pursuing the 121 credits required for graduation. Our undergraduate curriculum establishes a solid foundation through common courses typically taken during freshman and sophomore years under pre-professional engineering status. These courses fulfill university general education requirements and create the groundwork for specialized departmental studies.
The industrial engineering undergraduate program's mission is to prepare students for leadership roles across diverse sectors such as manufacturing, supply chain management and logistics, healthcare, banking, information management, and related fields.
The industrial and systems engineering department provides a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering to ready students for various career paths including operations management, manufacturing, and healthcare. Our objective is to develop graduates who will drive their organizations to competitive excellence using industrial engineering methodologies.
