Tailored for students skilled at grasping intricate information technology concepts, the Information Systems Management major at Wayne State University's Mike Ilitch School of Business focuses on a management-oriented perspective of information systems. This program is available both in-person and online.

Technology, information systems and analytics (TISA) involves utilizing computerized systems to collect and interpret detailed business data. Managers rely on this analyzed information for strategic decision-making. TISA students often enter careers as business analysts, database specialists, ERP experts, social media strategists, web content coordinators, and IT systems administrators. The TISA curriculum prioritizes practical experience with industry-standard software and prepares students for certification exams in their field of study.

Qualification Requirements

International applicants must complete the equivalent of a U.S. four-year bachelor's degree, including all state and external/internal examinations required for the degree. Some three-year general degrees (from Canada, India, Pakistan, France, Lebanon, etc.) may not be equivalent to a four-year U.S. bachelor's degree. However, if you have completed an honors degree, additional undergraduate coursework beyond the three-year bachelor's degree, or a graduate degree, you may be considered for admission. As an international student, you are required to meet the university's English proficiency requirements for Undergraduate Admissions. Minimum scores of 79-80 TOEFL iBT and IELTS 6.5 are required for admission to Wayne State. If your native language is not English but you have been instructed in the English language, you are not necessarily exempt from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL), the Test of Written English (TWE) and the Oral Proficiency Interview (OPI) requirements.
