Our School provides academic programs for both full-time and part-time students, culminating in Master of Science (MS) degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Materials Science & Engineering, as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Mechanical Engineering (all based at the Pullman campus). We also contribute to interdisciplinary degree offerings, including the MS in Engineering, Ph.D. in Engineering Science, and Ph.D. in Materials Science & Engineering. For the MS degree, students can choose between thesis and non-thesis tracks. Each study plan is tailored with an interdisciplinary approach. We anticipate students will complete their MS within two years and their Ph.D. within four years. The program concludes with a final oral defense and either a thesis (MS thesis track), project report (MS non-thesis track), or dissertation (Ph.D.). Competitive assistantships are offered to committed, high-achieving full-time MS and Ph.D. candidates.
